Marcel’s day/night

The image of this georgeous day/night will carry us over to the new year. It is the crowning glory of an eventful, exciting, and successful 2018. Since this watch is so captivatingly beautiful, we have decided to end our blogging year on this highlight and leave it in place until our first post in 2019.

Marcel’s new watch is the first day/night with a sterling silver 925 case. As he wished for a sculptural timepiece – this time with hands 😉 – Kevin applied circular grinding to the module board, the two horizon fans on the left and right and the dial to create a unique structure. The watch features a Sunburst Patina, which Kevin developed specifically for our day/night watches, but without the five-minute indices.

Watches without any added color coatings are among ochs und junior’s specialties. We do not know of anyone else offering something comparable. Most components of this watch are made of patinated or natural brass;  the sun is in hammered 24k yellow gold, the moon in hammered platinum PT950. The case, crown and buckle are in sterling silver 925. The correction pusher for setting true noon and correcting for standard and daylight savings time at 6 o’clock is always in titanium. The sturgeon leather strap is vegetable tanned and natural. Like the case, it will acquire a beautiful patina over time that will highlight its character.
