NYC

While Ludwig Oechslin was working away at his prototypes and making dials for his ochs und junior anno cinquantas, two of us escaped to New York. Paul Gerber and I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people in this fascinating metropolis, doing all kinds of things and getting all kinds of feedback. We also visited the new High Line park that joins the Meatpacking District to Chelsea’s gallery district. All of it with a wonderful patina!

As we gathered from the web forums ThePuristS and timezone, our ochsundjunior concept is polarising opinions. We already have enthusiasts – as well as detractors who feel threatened by the unadorned nature of our designs, the raw attraction of the cases and the unorthodox approach to our dials.

That’s great! We’ll continue ploughing our furrow and at some point remove the little sign on our website that tells visitors how to use it (we are aiming to change the illustration on the start page every few weeks or so).

We’ll be working on a more elegant way of showing our new friends how to navigate the website  –  what you have to remember is that it’s made for experimenting and trying things out.

We look forward to getting your feedback – wherever you are in the world! Email me at bw@ochsundjunior.ch
