It all started with beautiful Wald-Haus lamps made out of wood veneer.

To make a skateboard, you first have to glue fibreglass mats onto an ebony core using epoxy adhesive and then subject the sandwich it to pressure overnight.

You then saw it, mill it and…

… sand it. All by hand!

Time to remove the protective film and add the tape, axles and wheels – and go for a trial run.

And Matze? As an itinerant tradesman, he’ll be moving on in a few weeks. He’s currently helping Christof make skateboards, and then – who knows where his journeyman’s life will take him…
