Simple and aesthetically convincing requests for custom-made ochs und junior watches often come from people whose work involves the considerate use of materials and surfaces. In our blog, there are numerous examples of this already.

We were given the opportunity to execute the epitome of simplicity in an ochs und junior – the date – for a construction engineer and the co-owner of an architecture firm in the Lucerne area.

This was the very first ochs und junior on which we applied this particular grinding in our workshop in Lucerne. And it was this watch that ultimately inspired Marcel’s day/night.

The circular grinding is entirely done by hand: it is applied by Hoffmann with simple and traditional tools. The result on this elegant ochs und junior date, without any added color, is simply fantastic.
